Every Macau citizen or tourist who has been to Macao must have seen the Macau Tower standing in Nam Van. The 338-meter-high tower is a member of World Federation of Great Towers, with a 360-degree view of Macao, Zhuhai, Hengqin, and some of the outlying islands of Hong Kong. It carries not only the cherished memories of countless Macao citizens and visitors but also represents a special tribute from the group to honor Macau’s return to the motherland. Over the past 25 years, Macau Tower has been accompanying and witnessing the vigorous development of Macao and has also grown together with the Macao SAR.
As a pioneer in the cultural and tourism industry, we understand that Macau’s development cannot rely on a single sector. Our group has taken the lead, leveraging years of rich experience in Hong Kong and Macau to establish Macao’s first non-gaming tourism landmark, the Macau Tower Convention and Entertainment Centre (Macau Tower) in 1998, emphasizing diversified development. As the first international conference and exhibition venue in Macao, Macau Tower hosted its first international fashion show – the Chanel Spring/Summer Fashion Show and Party, in January 2002, a month after the grand opening. On a brilliant night with fireworks in full bloom, fashionistas from all over the world gathered at Macau Tower to enjoy a charming and stunning celebration. Over the past 20 years, the well-equipped Macau Tower has become a designated venue for numerous international conferences and significant trade events.
In line with diversified development strategies, the Macau Tower also introduced Macao’s first series of high-altitude urban adventure activities, including the Guinness World Record for the highest commercial bungee jump, as well as activities like “Sky Jump,” “Skywalk,” and “Tower Climb.” Such thrilling and extraordinary experiences have attracted adventurers worldwide to challenge themselves, helping to enrich the content of Macao as a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure and enhance Macao’s international reputation.
The group is committed to nurturing talents in cultural and tourism industry. Thanks to having professional service teams, Macau Tower has hosted national banquets and welcomed numerous dignitaries and important figures over the past 20 years. Watching successive generations of young people grow at the Tower, learning national standards of hospitality and banquet etiquette, and transforming from interns into internationally skilled professionals in events and tourism fills us with pride. Today, they have become an important force driving the diversified development of Macao’s MICE tourism.
We also extend the concept of diversified development to the hotel and leisure business. Launched in 2013, our own hotel brand “Artyzen” provides not only a place to stay, but also a cultural vessel that tells the local story. Guests at Artyzen hotels can deeply experience the essence of Macao and other mainland cities as we integrate hotel culture with local customs and urban narratives. The Group also shares the successful cross-industry experience in cultural and tourism with neighboring regions, accelerating the coordination and mutual complementarity among the GBA.
To showcase Macao’s remarkable achievements over the 25 years since its return and strengthen the bond between Macao and the nation, CCTV has installed four 24-hour cameras at the Macau Tower. From different perspectives, people across the nation can witness Macau’s prosperous development day and night “under the same sky,” striving together towards the nation’s second centenary dream.
Looking ahead, our group will continue to implement “Tourism+” as our growth strategy, injecting new vitality into Macao’s cultural and tourism development. We believe that with the continued development of the Greater Bay Area, Macao’s stories will remain captivating and diverse. This is not only our vision but also a sincere commitment to this precious land of Macao.
