In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 25th anniversary of Macao’s return to the motherland, Shun Tak Group, in collaboration with the General Association of Macau Beijing Organization, China Foundation for Cultural Heritage Conservation, and the Beijing Central Axis Protection Foundation, hosted the “Heritage across Cities, Prosperity in Bloom — 2024 Beijing-Macao Photography Exhibition”, at the Macau Tower Convention and Entertainment Centre.
The event aims to deepen cultural exchange and cooperation between Beijing and Macao, and to promote the protection and inheritance of world cultural heritage. The exhibition is free to the public and will run until December 31, 2024.
During the opening ceremony, Ms. Pansy Ho, Shun Tak Group Executive Chairman and Managing Director, President of the General Association of Macau Beijing Organization, and Vice Chairman of the China Foundation for Cultural Heritage Conservation, stated: “From one perspective, this exhibition reflects the profound and enduring nature of Chinese civilization, while also showcasing the progressive and timeless development of both Beijing and Macao. With its unique blend of Chinese and Western cultures, Macao is well-positioned to showcase traditional Chinese culture, values, and concepts to the world, contributing to the construction of shared human values. This is not only a strength for Macao but also a necessity for our nation. I believe that through this photography exhibition, the exchange and cooperation between Beijing and Macao will continue to expand, allowing Chinese culture to better reach the world.”
The exhibition focuses on the “Beijing Central Axis — A Building Ensemble Exhibiting the Ideal Order of the Chinese Capital” and the “Historic Centre of Macao”, which both are included on the World Heritage List. Featuring 100 carefully captured photographs and 42 paintings created by photographers and renowned artists from both regions, the exhibition was successfully held with the Group’s support on venue and production.
The Group remains committed to leveraging its experience and resources gained in business development to fulfil its social responsibilities, adhering to the principle of “using culture to shape tourism and showcasing culture through tourism,” thereby promoting Chinese culture. Following the opening of the exhibition, the Group will collaborate with educational and youth organizations to hold various extension activities, helping young people from Hong Kong and Macao gain a deeper understanding of the country’s development and modernization, thereby fostering a strong sense of national identity.
