The Group has again received the industry’s recognition for our endeavors related to environmental, social and governance (ESG). With NEW BUND 31 as the Group’s most recent core ESG project, we entered the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association’s “Hong Kong ESG Awards” and received the “ESG Award”.
Opening in October, NEW BUND 31 is a joint venture between the Group and Shanghai Lujiazui (Group) Company Limited. The mixed-use development will flourish in parallel with the city’s rise as a premier global city through its active contributions towards Pudong New Area’s performing arts scene and the creation of a “Shanghai-based Cultural Brand”.
The judging panel of the 2023 Awards comprises distinguished leaders from the public, commercial and academic sectors. They evaluated the overall performance of participating companies in various aspects of ESG; and assessed the performance of their core projects to determine the winners.
The successful incorporation of green building features to NEW BUND 31 has enabled us to obtain LEED Gold certificates from the U.S. Green Building Council and Three-star Green Building Design Label, the highest rating under China’s Green Building Evaluation Label scheme. NEW BUND 31 strives to create a structure that minimizes its environmental impact and enhances human health and well-being. In addition to optimizing use of energy and water-efficient technologies, low-carbon materials have also been adopted by this project. Through sustainable design and innovative green technologies, NEW BUND 31 is able to balance between comfort and energy conservation.
